BACKGROUND
Since OSACA's inception in 1994, it has been trying hard to eradicate the poverty level. Who would have dared to project a program in such a remote area like Chargorgori and its surrounding villages under Ishwardi Upazila of Pabna District in Bangladesh. The Government officials are also reluctant to roam around the area in giving their efforts to build up a better future for the ill-fated people.

However, challenges are being overcome through efficiency and hard work. Different programs were implemented to eradicate the poverty and misery of the poor. Emphasis on women empowerment is considered to be the pivotal sector. Now families are self dependent and are engaged in different income generating activities in OSACA working area.


HISTORY OF OSACA
OSACA was established as a non-profitable NGO back in 1994. Chargorgori and its surrounding villages under Ishwardi Thana of Pabna District were an appropriate selection as location to start. The area lies 15 km. West from Pabna District Head Quarter and 20 km. Southeast from Ishwardi Thana Sadar. Having no communication and other utilities like Electricity, gas, metal-led road, tele-communication etc. initially OSACA established its project office in such a remote area. A bunch of brave, young and energetic personnel of OSACA took enthusiastic oath to overcome all obstacles towards development of the disadvantaged community.
