Dental Unit, Rajshahi Medical College 4.46

In 1980 at the general meeting of the Academic Council of Dhaka Dental College recommended to establish two different dental unit in Rajshahi Medical College and Chittagong Medical College. As per recommendation a Dental Unit is started along with 20 students in 1989-1990 academic session in RMC.

From then assistant professor Dr. Md. Sirazul Islam Patowari acts as the head of Dentistry Department. The first class of the Dental Unit started at the home of Dr. Sirazul Islam Patowari in Laxmipur.

In 1995 the ground floor of the Sadar Hospital was allocated for the Dental Unit along with Eye and ENT department. In 1997 the Sadar Hospital was totally converted into Dental Unit.

Development of the Dental Unit is going on. A new building is going to established for a separate dental college.
