BRIEF NOTE ABOUT BSDI
Bangladesh Skill Development Institute (BSDI) is a very time bound initiative of Daffodil Education Network which has been functioning since 2002 to develop professional Human Resources in different fields of education and training. BSDI has completely changed the traditional concept of polytechnic, technical & professional skill development training institutes in Bangladesh. Today BSDI is very well known institute for science, engineering, arts study and also for professional and leadership development training programs. It is the first and only polytechnic institute of the country which has been awarded internationally.

BSDI is also very popular name in Corporate Training Industry which has earned international acknowledgement in a very short time. BSDI has provided corporate training to the human resources of many national and transnational organizations.
BSDI is ensuring knowledge, skill and attitude through Competency Based Training (CBT). Based on world renowned Australian Model, the aim is to ensure that no student will say “I know but I cannot perform” rather they will say, “I know and I can perform!”

Since its inception, BSDI is contributing in society through developing trained Diploma Engineers, Corporate Professionals and Skilled Human Resources. Recently BSDI has started to work for creating Entrepreneur. Today, BSDI has become the first highly selective education and training institute of Bangladesh for its effort. BSDI instills an intention of learning among its students and empowers them for a lifetime of leadership. EDUCATION SYSTEM
The education system of this institute is based on the education method of Bangladesh Technical Education Board. The guideline of Bangladesh Technical Education Board is followed by BSDI. Students have to complete successfully certain subjects/ courses for the completion of the Degree. Students should attend on the exam for the successful completion of the degree. After the successful completion of SSC degree, students can admitted into Bangladesh Skill Development Institute for getting Diploma degree in difference departments.

• Achieved affiliation from Bangladesh Technical Education Board for providing basic trade course on Electrical, Refrigerator & Electronics

• Established Hotel & Tourism Management department (Culinary Programs, Chef Development programs, Catering Programs, Food preparation & Preservation)

2004
• Established Corporate Training Division at BSDI
• Established a full free scholarship Project named Vocational Training for Youths

2005
• Work jointly with Katalyst for developing Customer Responsiveness Program for Private Healthcare Sector in Bangladesh.
• Organized a full free scholarship project with NTV for the developing IT and Business Skills for unprivileged women in Bangladesh.

2006
• Achieved affiliation from Bangladesh Technical Education Board to provide 4 years Diploma in Engineering program in Telecommunication & Computer Technology.

2007
• Achieved affiliation from Bangladesh Technical Education Board for providing 6 months basic trade course on basic Computer Application and Graphics Design & Multimedia
• Achieved affiliation from School of Arts and Fashion Technology-India for establishing Fashion and Art Department at BSDI.

2008
• Achieved affiliation from Addvalue Training Solution-India for Special Training on Call Center at BSDI

2009
• Organized National Workshop on Qualifying Teachers on New Technology for Vocational Teachers of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Vocational Teachers Association and Bremen University, Germany also work as an organizing partner.
• Achieved affiliation from Bangladesh Technical Education Board to provide 4 years Diploma in Civil & Electrical Engineering.

2010
• Achieved affiliation from Bangladesh Technical Education Board to provide 4 years Diploma in Textile Engineering

2011
• BSDI has got Medical Technology Affiliation from Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
• More than 2500 students have been trained under Vocational Training for Youth scholarship project.

2012
• BSDI has got central approval from Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH, UK)
• Organized Book Reading Competition (Being the part of DEN) jointly with British Council countrywide
• Received Education Leadership Award-2012, from IIT, Delhi, India. (In Recognition of its contribution to inclusive and quality Holistic Education)
• More than 500 students have been trained under Vocational Training for Youth scholarship project.
• Our Director & Principal Mr. K M Hasan Ripon selected by ILO TVET Reform Project (Comp-IV) for the Master Training program from TAFE Hunter Institute, Newcastle, Australia.

2013

For the assistance of students, BSDI provides computer facility with internet connection like cyber café without any cost. Students get online access by the cyber care which is very much important for digital students.

13. CSR
BSDI is very much aware about corporate social responsibility to country. BSDI provided warm clothes in winter of every year, Iftar distribution in Ramadan to poor people, Scholarship to general people for computer knowledge and other different activities for the corporate social responsibility.

14. ONLINE EDUCATION SYSTEM
BSDI have been working for providing online based education to students. BSDI developed digital classroom for providing lecture digitally to students. BSDI provides all education resources to its students on website, forum, E-mail from which students can easily informed from anywhere of the world.

15. ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
Ex-students of BSDI create and Alumni Association for their unity. Alumni Association is also working for the quality development of BSDI students. Alumni Association create a dedicative team to support the existing students to their career. The maximum members of BSDI alumni Association are doing business and job in national and international companies.

BSDI is online based technical institute in Bangladesh. BSDI always concerned about the online facility to students for developing digital students. BSDI developed website to provide all kinds of information on online.
BSDI forum is another online resource to BSDI students. Students can share their view, thinking about different topic in a community of BSDI fourm with the writing to forum. Students can develop their writing, communication and career.
